History

Since the beginning of recorded history, the land known as the Golden Strait have been occupied by a horse riding people. The land consists mainly of plains with a few rivers cutting through the golden grass.

In the early years of Aelmyr's creation, the horse lords were savage pillagers and were one of the strongest forces of the continent. They were a threat to the expanding Aelmyrian kingdom, but the Aelmyrian king at the time managed to convince the king of the horse lords to an alliance. Over the years, the Aelmyrians shared their vast knowledge and taught the horse people advanced agriculture making it more profitable than raiding. They adopted the agricultural technology and refined it, leading to permanent settlements growing all over The Golden Strait. Over the generations the people of The Golden Strait became more like the Aelmyrians and many converted to the fate of the eight. A minority of people still live the nomadic life and are trying to preserve their ancestors' way of living.

In the year 4890 SA Aelmyr was invaded by a naval force of elves from the south. Reidan the lord of the Golden Strait was asked by the Aelmyrian king to aid him. Reidan obliged if he would get the king's daughter's hand in marriage. Together they banished the elven forces and Reidan took the name Calvarion married the king's daughter. The Golden Strait was then agreed upon officially being a part of the Aelmyrian kingdom.
